Looking for a Geforce TI4200. Thought I'd check here before going ebaying.

What so good about that certain videocard?

I have one in my PC and gonna use it for mame.... but it was a fluke that i would be using this.... whats the difference?

4200s are cheap NEW anymore.. avoid ebay..

It's a pretty good card for the money. I'm just going to use it in a system for a home made megatouch type system. I use one in my MAME cab also and it works well along with playing Tigerwoods well.


Most places online wanted $80+ for one of these. Ebay has them for $40-$50.

thats still my primary card on my PC.  I was able to run Doom3 and halflife2 no prob....of course not in the obscene resolutions though.

Back in the day they were incredably powerful for the price, they also overclocked like a champ and it was pretty easy to get your ti4200 up to 4600 speeds (the 4600 sold for more than twice the price).

These days they are getting a bit old for really good 3D perormance but if you can do without 8x anti aliasing etc then they are still a pretty solid peice of work. They are also one of the best cards for outputting to an arcade monitor if you can't justify the expense of an arcade VGA and can't find a trident blade 3D (I couldn't in both cases)

In answer to the original post, you might want to look at the prices these things sell for brand new as well as second hand, they are dirt cheap now even brand new

I looked on pricewatch but the still want $80+ for a new one. No biggie I'll just grab one of ebay.
