TheNasty:
You have 1100+ posts to this messageboard and you've never seen this kind of thing before? I'm not trying to put you down, I'm shocked that there are people who use their computers alot that haven't received one of these before, or at least have heard about them.
Have you seen the nigerian one? Where they offer to wire you $10 million dollars so you can send them $9 million back?
I get ones like this from Wells Fargo, Wachovia, etc., I don't have accounts there.
Definitely never click a link in an email lilke this, ever. I got one from American Express that offered to upgrade my card, and I didn't click, I called.

a well managed mail server will filter these , they say they are from paypal.com or ebay.com , but the mail server is NOT from them .. if the mail server is allowing messages with a from address that does not match the ip# of the server then you really need to get this to your server admin ( or isp ) , this is a major major security hole in the mail server ( this includeds anyone getting these ) ...
note: some spam slips through because if you look closely at the header of the e-mail , the from is embay.com or paypel.com etc.
my mail server flat out disconnects when somthing like this happens , yes a few friends have problems e-mailing me because their isp's dont properly format their mail , but compaired to the 100's of e-mails a day the server doesnt even give an acknowlage to ( they all spam ) i can live with it.

This is that one good reason why I have 2 e-mails. Thenasy_at_hotmail is just for anything and will accept anything they throw at it, but my regular e-mail is filtered to my arse that even the the president can't e-mail me :D
