Title: direct pad pro
Post by: night on October 12, 2002, 04:07:45 am
k, i have had zero problems with this for quite a while. great prog.
but suddenly #2 wont work. i used snes pads for a joystick setup.

player 1 is fine, but nothing on player 2 side does anything except 1 button and that, in the control panel, turns on all buttons and the joystick to the top left ?!?!?!

i cannot figure out why it is doing this. tried it on 2 comps with fresh installs. one is 98, one is ME. tried changing #1 and 2 cords, and tried a 2nd parrallel port adapter i have. nothing changes it. even tried other port modes besides ECP. it has to be the software somehow, even though it was just installed on a recent 98OS install.

this really sux cuz i made this stick for a friend and when i had him come over to see it, it refused to work right :(.

any ideas ? please ?

(and an addition to the guest/login prob- i have IE5 and it did it to me everytime. so finally i opened the cookie and the pass was some wierd crap. i put my pass in the cookie and closed/restarted IE and it holds my login fine now)

The axis up and to the left with all or one of the buttons on constantly is a common symptom of a shorted wire. (I used hacked snes pads for almost a year at one point so I can recognize it.)  Check your connections.  :)
