Hey all, my bezel came, I installed it, and between trips to my new apartment I got some good shots of the finished cab..let me know what you think I should change for the next cab...artwork is in the 'undecided' stage, BTW.

Moderators: I think the link I submitted for this project last month points to a different website, any chance you could change it to the above? Thanks!

What's the name of your project? I'll check and update it if needed, once you tell me the name. (the examples aren't sorta by user names or emails)

TOM61: ah, sorry. It's called 'FROSTILLICUS AND THE MAME CAB'. near the end of the list of regular upright projects. Thanks a bunch - I appreciate your help.

..WOW ::).
good work with painting and the panel looks just like mine(angle cut).
1 question though...is that oak?
I mean..you did a great paint job but why paint over oak? ???
anyway..looks great! :D.sides look almost like laminate(painting skills)

wow thanks guys I really appreciate it. That was my first cab and I spent a looong time planning and a few weeks building. That planning paid off! ;D heh so did 4-H woodworking.
Snaaake - it's made out of plywood. Not cabinet finish grade, but just below. So it had some cosmetic blemishes like knots and stuff that wouldn't look good for a stained bookcase but fine if it's for painting. Really nice wood cost much more $$$$. Plus some of the knots had some filler in them, so that didn't help. I used a roller with really really fine bristles.
Still have to do some side artwork(lots of shiny black spaaace on that thing). My friend who I sold it to is trying to make up his mind on the theme. ::)

I see...
i was like..wahhh..paint over oak(oak cost lot).
so..you sold the cab.. :o..building another? ???
or you dont play games anymore?
unfortunate though :-\(cant imagine without a cab..its like family :D)

*sniff* :'( *sniff* yeah i sold the cab when i moved, but i'm planning on building another. Better, faster, stronger(but not bigger that thing was a monster). It was very hard parting with the machine :'( I'm now working on a 2-piece design based on my last cab and 1up's rotating panels. Maybe a little less lusid, those are everywhere these days.

Nice work oh Frosty one! ;D
I am sure it was hard to part with; but, building these monsters is half the fun and moving gave you the excuse to build another...so it's all good ;)
