my arcade project is comming aong nicely, ive ordered my jpc, ipac and all the other bits. all i need is a graphics card! i was going to get an arcadevga but there out of stock on ultimarc's webby, so i was going to get a 9200se instead, should i wait or buy one of these, i will be using it with a standard monitor. im also wanting to use it windos not dos with mamewah, i have project arcade but i stilll need your expert advice :D thanks again!

Define "standard monitor" please. I assume you mean an arcade monitor since you're using a JPAC. This isn't a TV or a VGA compatible computer monitor, correct?
-
yea ita a 27 inch hanarex arcade monitor :D
-
Ultimarc lists out of stock on everything currently because he is on vacation.
I think he'll be back in a few days.
Later,

Just wait for the arcadevga. It is a very popular product, I am sure you'll be able to order them again soon.

The Arcade VGA is a great product, however, you *can* get the same results using a 9200 series.

Tritoch84: That's an ambiguous statement. That may be applicable for other people, but the scenario that dark is in your statement is not correct. He has an Arcade monitor he wishes to drive under Windows as well. Right now, no card on the market other than the AVGA can do this with a JAMMA board. You cannot force a video card to the proper frequency under Windows alone. You can of course output the right frequency inside MAME.

so i need to wait for an AVGA then? :D thanks for all the help!

Right, thats why I said "*can*"
A 9200 works fine with an arcade monitor with the right drivers, but without the extras of the AVGA.
If I was making a cabinet with a dedicated computer and real arcade monitor, I'd go the AVGA route, I only mentioned this because I run a 9200se.
Just throwing some info out there.
