I'm having a very strange problem all of the sudden. Somehow the "Tab" key is no longer being recognized by MAME (version .086). What is strange is that it has been working up until now. At first I thought my IPAC programming may have gotten screwed up, but I get the same thing with my keyboard plugged in directly to the PC.
I know that the correct keystroke is being transmitted because I can open a notepad document and the tab key works fine.
This is really frustrating since I still have quite a few games that I need to create custom keymaps for.
The only thing that I know to try is to put a fresh copy of MAME onto the box, but the Tab function is the only thing that seems to be broken.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any help you guys could give would be much appreciated.

yeap, its been ask a million times so they put the answer in FAQ.
Its a good read for all sort of problems, and if you don't feel like reading it, you should and you will find the answer to your question "Delete the default.cfg".

Strange. I did several searches but come up with nothing. Must have been doing something wrong. I did not, however, look at the FAQ. Thanks for informing me without flaming me.:) I usually am much more thorough before posting questions.
