Title: Non working Defender cab(how much is it worth?)
Post by: skid_68 on December 27, 2004, 11:20:42 pm
Hi, at a local bar I deliver to. There is a non working Defender cab, dont know whats wrong with it. But was wondering what it might be worth. He said he would sell it for $200. Is that reasonable for a non working cab?

Buy it at that price. It is a good price.

I picked up a non working defender for $25. I have to repaint the whole cab though. It was painted over with enamel based paint. It did come with the G07, but the neck on the tube broke when we were loading it into the truck.

If it's in great condition on the outside and has the marquee, bezel, cp then it's definately worh $200. I'll be into mine about $200 with just buying repros of those parts.

We (Australia), recently had a non-working Defender sell on Ebay for over $2000.
$200 sounds like steal.

If you are doing it for pure profit, then don't bother. A $200 Defender won't turn any REAL profit if you can't repair the boardset yourself.

I live in Salem, UT. just south of Spanish Fork. I'd be interested to know the name of the bar and maybe take a trip up there one saturday to take a look at it. It may only need a new rom or two to get running.

I'd pay $200 if that's the only problem and it's in good condition. My big concern that the cab has smoke damage. My wife won't let me have cabs that reek like cigarettes in my house.

Yeah this one probably does smell like smoke and liquor. Its a smokey bar. ;) Its been a few months since I was last there. But Im sure its still there. Its been there for years. Its something Lounge, Right next to Broken Arrow at the main junction in Lakepoint. Ill get ya the name, Ill call my boss.

*EDIT*

S&W lounge tell him the guy who delivers his CO2 sent ya his way. I almost bought it last December, but didnt have the money.

For smokey cabs first clean them very well. For most people that takes care of it. But if your wife is one of those ultra-hyper sensitive people then paint the entire inside of the cabinet black, and clearcoat the outside. If that doesn't fix it then unfortunately the problem is your wife.
