Title: Have a pinball and now trying to emulate

I just recently acquired an old pinball machine, a 1978 Joker Poker.  It needed some work but finally got it operational.  Has anyone used the pinball emulation programs and is it worthwhile even adding pinball support to a controller with side buttons?  Just wondering if I am wasting my time even considering doing the pinball emulation when I have the real thing.

I have never seen a pc pinball that is even close to the real thing......I have a Williams Space Shuttle and enjoy it alot so I say enjoy the real thing..........

Joker Poker? That sounds like a Gottlieb system 1 game.

It's a Gottlieb 1978 and did come in both electro-mechanical AND solid-state system 1 versions.  I have the electro-mechanical version which was fun debugging with all of the relays and switches.  I just thought it might be fun to have the same exact thing on the PC since it is available.   

I'm trying to decide if it is worthwhile to go through the hassle of implementing extra switches on the sides of the CP.  I guess it won't hurt to have them just in case I decide to use them.

Sure it's worth it.  Pinball emulation is fun!  But it's a different kind of fun than the real thing, and you're lucky to have a real pin!  Congrats!
