Title: Hantarex MTC 9110 - shimmering
Post by: DrFunk on December 22, 2004, 12:08:25 pm
Hi all,

I posted a topic a while ago with not much success.

I'm the happy owner of an Hantarex MTC 9110. It works pretty well but there is a shimmering effect on bright pictures, about 1 pixel width. This improves a bit when the monitor is warm.

Question :
1) any idea of what's going wrong
2) do I need a cap kit at this stage
3) do I really need it because I'm pretty scared of touching the suction cup and messing around with the whole thing

Thanx

Hello,

I hate to answer your question with a question, but I couldnt resist.  I am a total newbie that is putting together a cabinet and I am wondering how you are using your MTC 9110?  With a MAME box or a Arcade PCB?

I have the same monitor and I am going to be connecting it up to a JPAC this week.  BTW if I see any shimmering on bright images I will report this.  Any titles you are seeing it happen in particular?

Thanks

I'm using it both ways, with PCB's (Raiden Fighters and Tekken 2b) and a Mame box.

For the mame box, I'm using linux + matrox G200 (excellent video card) + JPAC. It took me a bit of time to set it up as I was pretty new to linux but since, no problem, it's rock stable.

Shimmering appears on any bright pictures PCB or MAME (e.g. Asterix).

I would suggest installing a fresh capkit in that monitor.
