Title: Atari Z26 Question/Problem
Post by: Josh on December 22, 2004, 08:22:11 am
I am using Mamewah as a front end and trying to run Z26 for Atari emulation.  On some games it loads and runs the game fine, but on others when I start the game I get a dialog box that says "version 2.09x windows version with MAME keys 6-20-03 hack by PacManFan www.pacmanfan.com"  I have to click on the ok button and it just takes me back to mamewah.  What could be causing this?  Some games work fine while others give me this box

Thanks for any help you can provide

Josh

Try "Show DOS Box" set to no and alt_launch_method to 1; thats what I have.  This is in your emuname.ini file.

You can check out all my emulator INI files for MameWAH settings on my downloads page at http://home.comcast.net/~cpviewer

Enjoy,

I could probably take that dialog box out. I replaced some of the default text when I remapped the keys for cabinets. I'll look into it and see if I can do it soon.

I have tried all of the suggestions listed above and nothing fixes the problem.  When I use the settings on John's page I get a file can not be found error probably due to the rom names in quotes setting.  I tried the changing the alt  launch method and made sure the dos box setting was no.  On some games I still get that dialog box and when i click on ok it just goes back to mamewah instead of launching the game.  Some games do work, so I am really confused on what is causing this

Thanks

I guess the next step is to try and run the games that do not work  outside of mamewah in a command window to verify they are good.

Also, make sure they are all the same extension and none are zipped or anything like that.

I use the same version of z26 as you and I suspect my settings in z26.ini are the same as what JCRouse uses so there is no good reason this shouldn't fix easily.
