Title: any keyboard to joystick wrapper?
Post by: Space Fractal on December 20, 2004, 06:49:14 pm
Do a software exists to emulate a joystick on the keyboard? It should work with Win98/DX9 (Arcade Music Box).

Arcade Music Box (that using DX9) do not respons any controls (even the mouse), when I using RealVNC to acces the server on a Win98 machine.

This is why, i try to find a good joystick wrapper.

Do a search for JoytoKey. That should be what you are looking for.

I've gotta ask.... What makes you think that joystick input is going to work any better?  Usually a program (or in this case interface)  will take keyboard input before anything else.

Personally, I'd like a game-specific keyboard-to-joystick wrapper for Gish (http://www.chroniclogic.com/gish/index.html) exclusively. While the game works very well with arcade controls, the gui menu does not.
The menu does, however, work like you'd hope when using a gamepad (joystick directions to choose menu options, a single start button for selecting items).
