Title: Bump -n- Jump...
Post by: javeryh on December 19, 2004, 10:57:18 pm
This game is not on the mame gamelist ...  and of course after getting my wife to semi-allow me to start building after months of asking (read: begging) her only request was to play some Bump -n- Jump because it was one of her favorites as a kid.... anyone know what's up?

Why couldn't she have fond memories of Pac-man?

Also called "Burnin' Rubber".  Look for it there.

I think it was originally a Deco game. Then it was released as a dedicated.

I played it about 30 minutes ago, first time in about 18 years I reckon, it's cool. It's definately in V0.86 that's what I'm using.

"Bump and Jump" and "Car Action" are both listed as clones of "Burning Rubber".

The roms are bnj,  caractn and brubber

All three were in MAME at least as far back as 0.76

More often than not you will need the rom for the original game in order for a clone to work because clone roms often only contain the parts that are different from the original.

You can use ClrMAMEPro to figure out which roms you are missing.

I don;t have amme on this machine right now, but to find parent info for a rom I don't know if it is listed in the gamelist.txt.  Otherwise at command prompt do a "mame -listxml > output.txt"  Open up the output file and find the rom in question.  If it has a parent it will be listed.
