Title: Flourescent light power question
Post by: _Iz- on October 04, 2002, 12:58:43 pm
I just picked up an old cabinet for a MAME conversion. The cabinet is basically gutted (no board, power supply or monitor). There is still the original flourescent light fixture inside. Anyone know if this can be connected directly to the wall socket or was it powered at a reduced voltage by the original powersupply? Since the powersupply is not there I have no idea how it was wired originally.

Any help appreciated,

TIA

There is a good source of info on the flourescent in the cab by Bob Roberts. Here is the link to his web page.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. Good source. I actually ended up biting the bullet and trying it with straight 110v from the wall. Werks...
