Hey ya'll. I recently picked up a used 25 inch Wells Gardner. It originally came out of a Mortal Kombat cab. Its a fairly nice monitor but it's a little blurry, especially on the corners. Anyway I was wondering if there is any reason why it has this kinda blurry picture? Yes I used the pot on the back to change the sharpness, and still no luck. I even made sure all the wires were fine, because my 19'' inch WG is clear and sharp as glass....
Anyway, anyone on this board use a 8 liner monitor? I was thinking about purchasing the 25 inch model on eBay. It seemed to be the right price and new. So I'm just looking for some feedback.
Thanks,
-Ben

You need a cap kit to fix that monitor so it's not distorted at the edges.
8Liner's are gambling games. Most I've seen were 13"
What's the link?

I actually just paid this TV repair place $160 to get my caps replaced...I know I got ripped off hardcore.

It may be your tube is getting old.
A tube rejuve might help, but may not.
I have used a 8liners chassis on a 7000 wg.
Has a few keystone issues and ALOT of blooming.

What is blooming?
-
When the screen gets brighter or darker it will get larger or smaller.
(It's when the monitor has trouble supplying a stable enough high voltage when there is a large change in output.. (right Ken???) )
I really noticed it in Marvel Vs Capcom

Blooming is a symptom of low high voltage to the picture tube. Instead of say 20,000 volts going to the picture tube it may only be getting 15,000 volts. That's not enough for a sharp picture. Blooming is most noticed when the picture shifts from a dark scene to a bright scene---the picture will suddenly get bigger all the way around ("Blooms").
It's very possible that your flyback is not putting out the voltages it should. It is a high failure item and only costs around $24 from Zanen Electronics.

I dont even know where to go with is problem my monitor is having, the whole sharpness thing. I'm not a techy, so I know I couldnt fix it. :(

So should I what would be cheaper..getting a professinal to fix my monitor with blurry picture or buy a new 8 liners monitor?
-
Buying the complete 8liners monitor would probaly be cheaper for you.
