Who was it that know how to add SAMPLES back to Asteroid ? I look at a old src and initials PRD..Well anyway, anyone have the src for Mame059 that has the Samples put back in ? Could anyone that know how to do it explain how to add it back in Mame059. The last one I think that was done was 37b16. TIA

I have a sound fix for asteroids, not samples.  It was posted on the mame compiling board a few months ago.  I hear it was submitted to mame and it might be in .62 or .63

I wanted to add to 059. I kinda stuck in 59 (Advance) for 60-61 is giving me a lot of Video problems. I have read something (WIP) that sound in Asteroid are fix (except for 1) before. You say you have the FIX sound for it ? Could you post it somewhere or e-mail it to me and I gonna try to incorporate it to version 059. TIA.

Do you use an IM?  If so PM with your ID and which IM.
The fix might work in 59, not sure.

I'll do a diff, see which files changed.

I remember it was PacFan that submitted a hack to put the samples back into mame but it didn't work with Advance Mame.

I had tweaked his fix to work with Advance mame 55.2 or higher.

(I haven't tried it in any of the newer versions cause I ended up switching using the Windows port.)

Here's a link to a .zip download with the source code changes for advance mame 55.2. (I can't find his originals though.)

I sent him the latest fix which aKen Danford (I think that was his name) submitted to mame.  It might be in .62 or .63
