Title: MameWAH list available games
Post by: ginno on December 16, 2004, 07:08:08 am
I'm not sure if im missing something completely obviously here or not but..

I originally downloaded mame32 a while ago, played with it for a while then downloaded mame32 0.82 as i began building my first cabinet a few months ago.

In the mean time i discovered mameWAH, decided to go with it to steer clear of the windows interface and downloaded the dos version of mame (i think its 0.82 as well, how do i tell?)

Since then i have played round with mameWAH a bit, got movies playing, sounds, custom layout etc. however i'm stuck on the custom lists.

I have the full list of games showing however i want it to display only the available games i have (like in mame32)

I generated the filtered list in mameWAH via

Options ->Games List Options -> Generate Filtered List

which cut down the games but it looks to show only the non clones, i have no catver.ini file so i didn't get any other options during the list creation

My question after this short story therefore is:

How do i display my availible games in a mameWAH list as opposed to all games???

P.S another thing i noticed mameWAH - All Games says i have 1130 in total where as mame32 0.82 - All games is 4921, could my issue be with the dos version of mame i have, do I have to work on the setting is this first??

Thanks for you time guys...

cheers ginno...

If your ini file has 'list_generation_method' set to 'rom_folder_vs_listxml' (which I believe is the default for mame.ini) or 'rom_folder_vs_listinfo' (for older versions of mame) then the number of entries in 'All Games' should be the number of games that you have rom sets for...  If you want MAMEWAH to verify the romsets and only use the valid ones, I believe you can use 'verifysets_vs_listxml'...

Where you filter your lists there's an option to display the clones. You probably have this option turned off.

Go back in to Options ->Games List Options and make sure it's not.
