Check this out:
http://www.westcontrols.com/files/products_controls1.php?cat=C6YO&type=XFY
They've got repro yokes, in both geared and gearless flavors.
Price may be a bit steep, though.

Looks good. Your not wrong about the price though....
-
For that price I'd expect the rest of the cab including a working vector monitor to be included. ;)
-
from the website:
This price DOES NOT INCLUDE an adapter
-
What makes you think their repros? Seem & look like originals to me:
Fully restored with original components and has the same angle as the upright cabinets.
Anyone know what the angle used is? Looks like ~30deg from horizontal.
And jeepers, I was expecting a coupla hundred dollars but :o And the adaptor alone is 50 or 70 bucks!
Crap pictures on the site as well, you'd think they could do better than that. Looks to me like they're using the artwork from the vector arcade art library - I think the textured effect is slightly different to the original (don't quote me on that tho).
-
This guy might as well make them from gold--what kind of dumba$$ charges those prices ??? You know what this says to me--"I think guys that buy this stuff are so stupid, they'll pay any price just to have one" Its almost funny to think that he thought he was pricing competitively...
-
The gearless one I'm assuming is a hydra flavor... And these kinda suck for starwars...
But come on now... I can get a full starwars cab for one of these...
-
if I lived in europe--1 unit would be $175US to ship :o :o :o--if this yahoo even sells one he could retire :P
-
It might really take a ton of hours per controller. There is a chance he really isn't making much.
The first few takes longer then the others... And if he is using exact parts... It might really take 500+ on parts alone (assuming he has a few parts fab'd)
It doesn't make it worth it though...
-
I soiled myself when I saw the price tag.

Mother of God!
That thing better be able to PLAY the game for that kind of dough.
A rebuild kit for these is only like $60 or so. I mean, even if he swapped out the pots....he can't be in for more than a buck.
-
What do you think his rate is? $200 per hour?
-

The late 90's bubble has burst, but some people haven't realized this yet! (Mostly the sellers) ;D
-
Contact GameCab and see if he is selling his yoke again.
-
LOL (not mine)

THANKS FOR THE LINK.....now I can't get my wife off my back for the $270. I paid for a USB hacked one!

Yeah, but for $900.00 he might not take 6 months and police action to send it to you! <ducking>
-
For $900 he could get the pin he wanted, too!

Just to clarify, my "he" referred to WestControls, not Mr. ArcadeScum.
I.e. - For $900, Westcontrols may not need six months and police action to ship like Mr. ArcadeScum did.
Not - For $900, Mr. ArcadeScum might have shipped it to you sooner.
But point taken about the pin . . .

Reply from West Controls:
These Star Wars Yoke

Alright, I'm always one for giving 2nd chances so lets see what kind of price they/he comes up with for the repro unit. I hope they use a little lube this time.
-
Well, Atari's cost on the ENTIRE PANEL was just $110, and those were not made in house either, they were buying them from elsewhere.

I have no idea what these things are really worth but yeah-The West Controls version is higher than most would pay. But.....
That .pdf file was from 1983!!! I am reasonably sure pricing has probably changed slightly over the last 21 years and it's not really a fair comparison.
-
Atari's costs aren't that relevant since I doubt WestControls buys in the same quantities Atari did in the day. (buying 1000 of a part is SO much cheaper than buying 10).
-
I don't want to hear anyone complain about the price of GameCab's yokes ever again.
-
1up-
You'll be offering these with your new cabs, right? :P
-
nah,
1ups yokes will cost 3 times as much and will be made of MDF
:P
