Title: oscar vortex spinner knob not attached?
Post by: big daddy on December 15, 2004, 09:23:58 am
The knob is purchased seperately from the spinner, but is it supposed to attach somehow to the spindle(rod?) or just sit on top of the spinner rod (meaning someone can just pull it off)?

My knob doesn't appear to make good contact with my spinner...I have to push down on the knob for it to actually grab the spinner rod.  It works mostly ok on games like tempest because I'm pushing down and spinning the full 360 degrees, but for games like aracnoid I'm not really pushing down much on the knob and the knob spins(slips?) a little before it catches and actually moves your spinner rod.  Makes playing the game not very easy.

Does everyone's behave like that?  I'm wondering if I'm just missing something and the knob is somehow supposed to be attached to the spinner rather than just sitting on top and that's why it "slips" a little before catching

I think it has 2 doesn't it?  Either way, just tighten it/them as said...

You will need a small Allan key to unscrew/screw the hex nut used on the spinner knob. If you don't have one, bring the Knob into a local hardware store. Often they sell them individually for like .25 cents.
