Hey I have some pictures here of my problem. There seems to be a strange curling on my monitor when I play some of the 90's era midway games such as...Mortal Kombat 1-UMK3, Rampage World Tour, NBA Hangtime. Everything else seems to play just fine. I'll also show u some pictures of Metal Slug playing..no problems with a strange curling or whatever you would call it. Someone know what the problem is? Also the monitor is a 19 inch Wells Gardner.

adjust your monitor vertical size.
most horizontal games have a 240 pixel vertical size.
Mortal Kombat does not. its around the 300 mark from memory and runs at 53Khz, not the usual 60.
Same thing happens on my aging Nanao monitor. But as the controls are easy to access I adjust it when required.

Werd. Mortal Kombat looks fine on my other monitor. :P

Let me bring this back from the dead and ask this:
I have a dedicated MKII that has the same problem from running it via the MKII PCB. When I hooked up the AVGA and ran MAME, it also had the same problem. I can adjust the verticle settings, but then it gets so streched, parts are off the screen. How can I keep it from curling at the bottom? Thanks anyone who can help!

Recapping the monitor MIGHT help, but I believe the games on that hardware were technically running the monitors outside of spec.

Thanks PO, but I noted that when running the MKII PCB (i.e. not on MAME) then it still had the problem at the bottom of the screen. Any ideas? Thanks man!

I've seen that before somewhere.

Yeah, I gave that a shot. I found a link that indicated a similar problem here:

His tip was to adjust a pot on the PCB, but I have a different monitor than him (mines a WG 25K7197) and I need to find a manual for it. Anyone know where I can d/l one online?

FYI a WG 25k7191 and a 25k7197 are the same monitor and should use a k-7000 chassis.Try the pot that is on the chassis.

Awesome, thanks for the info man! I'm just a little worried about messing around inside the monitor with it on, not to mention the fact that I have no idea how to look at the monitor as I turn the pot....

I don't suggest it but I'm using the reach around method
