went to the auction bought some stuff, wrote some prices down for others--here are the results--if its not on there I don't know how much it sold for. All prices in CDN dollars.
The two cabs I bought were the drivers edge for 25$ (couldn't stand on its own but had a nice 27" monitor inside) and the apache 3--monitor worked good and the hacked yoke on there will eventually be reconditioned and sold -- the cabinet was junk. Both cabs have been demoed and the pertinent parts salvaged--marquee, wiring, control panel coin doors etc. If you are looking for something related to either of these games let me know.

marvel vs capcom for 175!! damn, something had to have been wrong with it. i woulda bought that

That first juke must have been quite a mess! ...

LOL--yeah it was hilarious--the guy that brought it in--mr.pony tail i believe, kept trying to start it up and all you could hear was this 80's music at half speed and 10x volume--at first i thought someone had got a cab dropped on them when i heard the noise. The arkanoid cocktail worked but he screen was burned pretty good--more like "i've been in a fire" kind of burn as opposed to screen burn. And whats with all the aladdin castles conversions--I've seen like 5 games in beat up aladdin's castle cabs recently...

Hey, the prices look reasonable this time. Let me guess, the "Kid" wasn't there this time raising the price. I went to the auction, but I just went to parts to order my turbo shifter and played the new Elvis pinball game while I was waiting.
Was Mr. Pony-tail starting the bidding at $25 for everything again?
-
no but he did bid 1000 for his own machine--right in front of the guy he was bidding against--i was half tempted to point to the guy that he was bidding against the owner :police: --but kept my mouth shut
after item 80 or so the place emptied so sweet deals were to be had. And no "the kid" wasn't there this time--hence the reasonable prices.

Mr Ponytail is a strange dude eh?
I had an odd run in with him during the nov 2003 auction. That was the 4th one I had been two, so I def knew something was shady about this guy. None the less I was interested in getting my first pinball machine, but was disappointed the first few shows at everything going 1000$+.
I was delighted to find out that the show had alot more pins then usual. This being my first one I wasn't looking for anything prestine. In particular there was 2 T.M.N.T's at this auction. Super because some people may consider them cheesy, so I looked bother over very carefully.
The first 1 had a VERY badly warn playfield. Alot of the paint was missing right down to the wood. As you guys know those playfields are expensive to replace (if you can even find one).
The second 1 looked very nice, but 1/4 of the dot matrix display was out. Now this TMNT uses the first gen DMD, so they are hard to come by. But you could still see the score in between balls.
Pony tail spent 20 minutes trying to talk me into bidding on the first 1... his reasoning was that the "DMD's are very hard to come by". Which is true. But so are playfields. Additionally, while with good care i can guarantee that the nice looking one will never need a playfield, however the 1 with the good display MAY burn out any time, so I may be taking a double hit.
Needless to say, Poor playfield 1 went for 700$+ with the help of ponytails, and I stole mine for 500$ :)

I wish I could get a pinball for $500.
During the Summer/Fall auction, there was a World Cup pinball there that need a new flipper and a DOT Matrix Display. Now World Cup pinball is my favourite pinball game, because when I did road sales work. After I got on deal in the morning, I would relax and take a longer lunch at a pub playing World Cup pinball for an 1hour or 2.
And during the auction, I was talking to a guy and he said the machine will probably go for around $500-600 because of the work it needed. As the display costs $200- $300 to get a new one and the flipper more money to get fixed.
So I'm thinking that I'll might be able to get my favourite pinball for a good price and then spend the extra money fixing up the machine.
Well, the machine sold for $1300 with the help from the Pony Tail guy.

As with anything else, it depends on where and when you are... I have one I got for $75, and I'm picking one up tonight for free.

That ugly "Genesis" machine was shopped and was at the next auction. That has to be the ugliest backglass ever.
-
I really gotta go again, maybe when the weather warms up a smidge. Anybody seen any good pins show up there like simpsons or T2?? I wasn't in the market for pins the last few times I went, so I never paid attention to them (dammit).

I have a Genisis machine.
Yes, it has the ugliest backglass ever, but it's fun to play.
The #@!# led display went out of it this weekend. It still plays, but we don't know who won.

No the pony tail guy buys "low" price stuff and then fixes them up and brings them back to the next auction.
If you ever see "The Kid" at the auction. You might as well leave, as he buys at least half the good stuff at the auction and then resells it on ebay. Plus if he wants the item, he usually bid high to make sure he gets it.

Ponytail Guy is normally bidding on his own stuff to get more money for it. Usually if I'm bidding against him I just stop unless it something I really want. There are quite a few machines that are there time and time again.
