Post by: NIVO on October 01, 2002, 06:09:50 pm
just wondering if someone could give me info on the dimensions of the casing for the usb model(3"). I'm trying to determine whether i can fit in a custom i am working on. Also can you direct me to a place that sells them please. Thanks for your time.

Here ya go, NIVO!

I have one sitting on my bench, so let me know if you need any other dimensions.  BTW, this is the PS/2 version, not USB, but I highly doubt they would change the casing just because of a different interface.  ( I've been wrong before, tho.  :) )

**edit**
Forgot to mention - I don't know where you can buy a USB Betson 3".  Betson's 2002 catalog only lists the standard & PS/2 interfaces for a 3" ball.

I purchased my trackball from the betson website http://www.betson.com (http://www.betson.com)
Go to the parts section, and search for trackball, or follow this direct link http://www.betson.com/product.asp?dept%5Fid=11062&sku=IMP++47%2D4300%2D21++++++++++++++++++ (http://www.betson.com/product.asp?dept%5Fid=11062&sku=IMP++47%2D4300%2D21++++++++++++++++++)

Daniel

PS: You can probably also call them and order it over the phone.  I ended up calling them, and the people on the phone were quite nice (even though they sent me the wrong trackball the first time.. )

There is someone selling them on eBay, I got 4 of them for $31 + $14 shipping, try this link or search eBay for "arcade trackball*"

NOOOOOO... I've been watching those hoping to snag one at low cost since it seems to be in a "oddish" category for arc tracs...

He's got several auctions going...

FWIW you can get a refurb betson imperial for 29.99 from betson

You can search for stock number   47-4300-01R

attempt at direct link

refurb 3" tball betson (http://www.betson.com/product.asp?dept%5Fid=11062&sku=IMP++47%2D4300%2D01R+++++++++++++++++)

PS YARB any chance you could deep six that link until the oldest auction ends? =P  *shrug*

I just ordered one, the shipping for me was 45 cent
thats just freaking unbelievable, almost  cheaper
than mailing a postcard these days.
I hope it is as good a quality as new

Are the refurbished trackballs from betson the ps2/usb version?  I can't quite seem to find that information.  I am guessing ps2/usb since the product number is similar, but you never know.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the 2 1/4" benson trackball?  There is a picture of it on the website, but my poor eye sight can not read it.

I imagine/guessing that the refurb isn't the ps/2 version, but that's ok with me.  I'd assume it has some sort of standard arcade (molex?) interface plug...

(ya know... I always wondered about the ps/2 version how the right and left mouse buttons are wired up... i.e. are there leads for them?)

BTW the guy running the auction that NIVO won has of course more up on ebay, but you can buy from him direct according to this correspondance I had with him...

Hi,

I have about 20 more.

They all are the same and have a PS/2 connector.

I'll be putting a few on eBay every week.

I would sell one direct for $45+$10 S&H. PayPal.

Sent Priority Mail.

Thanks,

YMMV but for a PS/2 version of a 3" trackball that's NEW it isn't an awful price (just more than I am able/willing to pay)

Hmmm, the price I paid was for 4 of them so it came out to be $12 each with shipping and they don't look like refurbs and are still sealed in the box. It has wires for 3 arcade buttons to be used as mouse buttons. Now I have to decide how to configure a panel for it as Im very limited in space on my CP's.
