When I asign a music directory, mamewah played the intro once, then went ERROR Check log for blah blah blah.
So I shut it down, and restarted mamewah, it didn't even play the sound now, and just loads that error screen! It must be something in windows, but I can't think of anything. Here is the log.

(This is the first time I have tried to open music with MameWah, and I only have an Intro asigned. It's a MP3)

Sounds like you are pointing to a specific MP3 file.
-
Ah! Silly me, I mis read the file.
I was using an mp3, and had been only pointing to a folder, not a file, but I was mistaken on one little aspect, it should work now. Thanks
*slaps forehead*
I wanted the intro soundeffect, not the looped music,
*slaps self again*

Well crud, I named a wav file intro, it's a short clip, put it in one of my layout folders (the one I'm using) and I get
12/8/2004 2:52:00 PM Error -2147467259 Automation error
Unspecified error in SFX_Play
I know i DID have 8 on there,,,, maybe some other program wrote over it and installed an older copy...

Run dxdiag and check...
If that is OK make sure the file will play in Media Player.
-
odd, it plays in media player, I have version 8...
It's ok, I don't really care all that much about the effects now that I just run music in the background.
Still odd though.

I just checked and that error no. is the same which is returned if a bad file is used. Whether that means DX doesn't like your wav file, or if it returns that error no. for different errors I am not sure...
