Title: Rotating Monitor Project
Post by: CRiMiNaL on December 07, 2004, 01:24:17 am
I was thing of building a rotating monitor set up in my newly built cab. I have a tv in it now and hate it lol...

I was thinking of using a wells gardner u3100 19inch VGA ;)

I was wondering will i have to degauss the monitor every time  I rotate it and will this constant rotating and degaussing hurt the monitor?

oh..and also does the u3100 have a degauss button?

I'm using a computer monitor and find that I have to leave it off for a while after rotating it (I turn it off first).

I've had the colour go a bit funny once, but I fixed it using a fridge magnet :)

It's the Earth's magnetic field that distorts the colour, so by using a magnet in the correct manner, it gets the monitor's image back in sync with the Earth. Or something like that. I held the magnet close to the screen (or on it at times) and moved it like one would trying to blend two paint colours into a smooth fade to remove the distorted colouring. It's not perfect, but that might be just the image burnt on my brain of how it was, as I don't think anyone else can see it - even when I point out where the problems were.
