I dont know if u've seen this
its a traditional celebrity spot. it shows her dancing to all sorts of music. and at the end, shes on her show and her voice over comes on:
"My lifes about dancing to my own tune. My american express helps me to do that."
How *explicative here* hypocritical is that?
if you dont see it heres a translation:
"I love being an independant person, thats why I support big business."
-
Why do you think it's about supporting "big business"? It isn't possible that she can do things due to her purchasing power that don't benefit "big business"?
As for supporting big business, you support stealing from a grocery store, yet you are on your computer which is comprised of components from "big business", you wear clothes that either were produced, sold, or both, by "big business", you are using the electronic media to view this message that is brought to you by "big business", and you live comfortably due to your parents and their use of "big business".
Are you telling us you're sending this electronic transmission on your electric abacus while sitting nekkid (or wearing your hemp clothes made from hemp you grew in the back yard) and sending it over a tin can and a string from mom and pop's Stench Ranch Commune?
Your "stances" are decidedly self-serving.
Must be from smoking too much Oregano
;D
Hey, how's that Christmas set of DVD's for your girlfriend that you bought from "big business"?
-
Agreed. Floyd, try living in the real world.
You'll see things are much different here.

first, Im just pointing out her hipocracies. Amex and the RIAA are both big business.
Second, I dont buy from big business... most of what I own are second hand/ from goodwill, and the reason I'm not fully independant from the system is because Im not emancipated. although, I plan to attempt to bringing this country to its knees. im not saying I'll succeed for certain, thats wishful thinking, but why not try?

A major corproation is pandering toward "image" in it's advertisements?!? The devil you say!

Just found it funny. more hipocracy in the left wing.
and it was on a minute before I posted it and I was bored.

Maybe what she means is that American Express lets her be gay. Or that if you have an American Express card it's the closet homosexual in you raging to get out. Or that if you dress fashionably if you're a man, or like a lumberjack if you're a woman, American Express helps you buy those clothes.
Perhaps American Express feels it doesn't have enough homosexual cardmembers so they are using Ellen's wish to "be all she can be" to let other homosexuals know it's ok to use American Express in order to come out of the closet.
Perhaps American Express is the official card of transgenders, homosexuals, and genital reassignment patients. Because the doctor DOESN'T take VISA
I wonder if Diner's Club is gonna become the official lesbian credit card.
-
Since when was Ellen Degeneres relevant to anything? :police:

I wonder if Diner's Club is gonna become the official lesbian credit card.
I would DEFINITELY attend the user conference for that card.

If you're REALLY bored try running 'hipocracy' through a spell checker.

Was this a "those lesbians sure like to eat out" joke?
Lesbian jokes are funny, that's why people like ellen.
Yeah, it was. Just a little lowbrow highbrow humor for those who could figure it out.
Ellen USED to be one of the funniest comedians around. Where she went off the reservation is by trying to politicize her views - that's when folks who just liked her telling jokes said either "she's right, AND she's still funny, I think I'll still listen and support her" or they said "jeez, who CARES? All I listen to you for is for your humor, a distraction from how I view my own life....I can't stand these politics in humor".
I still thought she was funny as all get out, and her current show seems to be her attempt to get back to doing something that people by and large can identify with - talking and making jokes and being funny. PERIOD. (pardon the female pun there)

THAT is funny as hell! ;D
That reminds me of Mike Myers on SNL doing the "I'm a hyper hypo" skit with Nicole Kidman where he's chained to the monkey bars

I like american express. But I'm an America hating liberal. How is this possible?

Go on living your "screw the system" lifestyle, you won't even make a dent in this country, not even a scratch.

People who claim to hate America, love to spend America's money.
Phew...thanks. I've been trying to reconcile that apparent contradiction for years. It's like a weight lifted off my shoulders.
