Title: arcade Monitor Recomendation
Post by: kcoleman on December 06, 2004, 10:13:07 am
I am a total newbie to building MAME cabinets and want to put an arcade monitor in the cocktail table I am working on.  I will probably get a Gardner Wells monitor but see there are several different models for the 19in version.  Are they basically the same or does one work better for my table than others.  Thanks in advance.

You will want the models that have "Universal" (a.k.a. "Drop-in") mounting frame for a cocktail table. It would be a good idea to contact Wells-Gardner and ask them though, which specific monitor model would be most suitable for your application.

I'm new to this too and was planning on probably getting a WG also. But I just saw this review on retroblast:

and was impressed. I think I may go with one of these. I wonder if anyone here has used one and what their experience was like.

Yea, Retroblast originally gave it a good recommendation as an alternative to the WG action; but lately it seems some have had some troubles with it. do a forum search for Betson and read what people have encountered.
