I know that there are flash memory cards for the Gameboy that allows you to store a ton of roms images on one cart, but is there anything like this for the original NES system?
How sweet would it be to have a NES hooked up to the TV with a cartridge that has like 500 games on it.
Is there anything like this? Is it even possible?

The problem is many/most NES carts have additional circuitry (termed mappers) for bankswitching chunks of ROM in and out of the normal address spaces. The NES also has two address & data buses (CPU and GPU), which would probably make flash carts more difficult.
Then there's the NES lockout chip, although it can be bypassed by modifying the console. But the big N has a rep for strongly protecting it's IP.

they used to make them...for the SNES as well. Cant hardly find em anymore. And if you do, good luck finding the software for them

You're better of making a Nintendo PC. It's been done. I bought a mini-itx to fit in the case but never started the project.

Yeah, but a nintendo "pc" wouldn't put out properly to a normal television. Every S-Video out that I have used and seen from a video card to TV looks like crap.
oh well

Well, one way you could do it, is get yourself a Flash cart for the GBA, get the PocketNES emulator, then buy a gamecube, a GBA player for the gamecube, and play GB and NES games on your TV all you want ;)
Although by far, I find a PC is a much better solution.

that sounds as complex as hooking up a null modem :P

Belive it or not, I was just about to suggest the same convoluted solution.

Dreamcast is the ultimate NES emulation platform! It's uber-easy to put together and flawless in it's results! If you don't have one get one...
