I've bought a defective Jamma cabinet.
I get no screen / monitor activity.
The power supply is working.
I don't have a game pcb .
Should the monitor show anything when no pcb is connected to the cabinet ?
Thanks a lot.
Joachim.

No, not necessarily.
There should be a slight orange glow of the filament in the neck of the picture tube.

Thanks for the reply.
It does not show any orange glow.
It's a Hantarex MTC 9000. No blown fuses. It appears that the power supply is working. The coin lights are lit and the ventilation fan is working.
When powering on, it does making a squaking sound for about a second.
I've attached pictures of the power supply. The cabinet came with two boards that fit in a slot on the power supply. I don't know what they are for.
Any ideas of what the problem could be ? Does anyone know what the two boards that fit into the power supply slot are for ?
Thanks a lot !
Best regards,
Joachim

Sounds like your monitor needs a capkit.
As to the extra boards down on the power chassis, I've never seen anything like that before. Must have been something specific to the original game in that cabinet.

Thanks.
Some last few questions:
Do you know where I can buy a capkit ( Hantarex ) in Europe ?
How much chance do you estimate I have in solving my monitor's problems using a capkit ( just to know if the effort is worth it ) ?
Is there anything else I should try before this ?
Best regards,
Joachim

Hi all,
Here an interesting url of someone with a similar problem:

Is it worth the effort ( installing a capkit ) ?

Additional info:
During the second when the strange noise comes ( when powering on ), there's some blue light(ening) inside the (cathode?) tube.
