Title: self printing question
Post by: thrdbace on December 05, 2004, 12:06:06 am
i recently saw a project where the guy designed his marquee, chopped it up into small pieces (withing photoshop), then printed each small piece on clear sticky paper.

then, he just pasted this onto some posterboard, and sandwiched it behind some plexi glass...

how good are the results of an ink-jet marquee attempt??

It looks pretty much like you could imagine. OK, but not very authentic.... not vibrant, and will not stand up to close inspection.

It's one of the most visible pieces of your cabinets design. I would suggest spending $35 to have it done professionally. OR, you can easily buy a used marquee for $5 to $10, though it won't be custom.
