a lot of time, thought, and creativity in that cab
-
i think his problem is that he targeted the wrong demographic. really he should have been aiming at the UNIVAC-BENDIX emulator scene

wow. I've yet to see a cab that put the trashcade to shame.
I mean, it has a slikstick franken panel... You can see the computer monitors sides....
It's not really even a.... cabinet.... It's like a couple of pieces of wood mixed with random computer and arcade parts.... I wouldn't be suprised to see the monitor under the joysticks...
wow.
-
Mamey!
-
I especially liked the part where he said...
"Due to the size and complexity of this system, shipping is impossible, so you're either going to have to pick it up -- or I'll deliver it within 150 miles of ZIP code 55347. "
Lots of complex 90 degree angles there! Must have taken a while to get the monitor shelf angled...(why the heck is it angled anyway???) ;D
-
On the plus side, no classic cabs were mutilated in the seller's construction effort. ;)
-
holy man that has to be an experiment of some kind--"how many stupid people bid on ebay" or something--I just wouldn't have the nerve to list an ikea rack with a computer in it, the guy must have big cajones...
-
He's not selling a a cab really, just a frame and the stuff on it.
"MAME System w/ ect ect..."
I think it's a pretty good idea actually, just a frame to hold your CPU, stick and monitor in the right places. Makes for a cool PC gaming rig.
That one is maybe a bit too... heavy duty looking. Still if it was a little more refined, it woud be a pretty neat, versatile game rack.
Better than that overpriced X-Arcade one anyhow.

I have a car I rolled 5 times, and I'm going to sell it. You're not buying the car, you're buying the metal. Interested? ;)
-
No.
Unlike the MAME-frame, rolling a car 5 times is a BAD idea. And I don't think I need a thousand pounds of metal.
Thanks anyways. ;D

I need to build some sort of 2x4 rack over my desk to hold all my monitors. I would LIKE to use six of them, but they won't all fit on my desk.

Having it may be a good idea.
Trying to pawn it off for over $900US is the exact opposite of a good idea.

If you built the rack, you could probably fit 4 above, and 2 below.
The only pain in the butt is plugging/unplugging them all in
Paige, it'd cost you prolly $10 for materials, and it's just straight cuts. Stop procrastinating and DO IT already
(did that help you get motivated? ;D )
-
I think the pure entertainment of rolling a car over 5 times in a row (assuming you survive) would be worth the drop in value.
-
Um, its not even a mame cab... im not sure he knows what mame is: "all you need is an emulator and the ROMs (I can point you in the right direction for those...)"
he didnt mention a front end, which no one really knows about anyway, so, how cxan he expect them to know that!!!
grrr... time to use my favorite new smiley: :police:
-
"Bomb proof"? Hyuk hyuk.
-
shhhh. don't mention 'bomb' too much. or we'll get flagged by 'them'... :police:

Now, if you'll just speak louder and more clearly into my collar, I've got a few
questions I need to ask you. ;)
