Title: D9200 jumpy as hell
Post by: paigeoliver on December 04, 2004, 05:23:40 pm
I have no idea why I bought a used D9200. I should have known better.

It lasted 5 minutes before it messed up.

I was adjusting the screen, the colors were off in one corner, I degaussed, there was was tiny mild bit of discoloration left, I hit the deguass again and the monitor went all jumpy and has been that way ever since. It is making a sound that sounds like vector "deflection".

Is it jumpy (wavy) like when the degaussing is fading out at the very end...i'm wondering if perhaps the degaus "circuitry" got fried and it is still sending a little juice to the coil.  Is there a way to unplug the coil to see if it stops?

It was a ground issue. I live in a house with 2 prong plugs. I got it to stop by running a wire from the monitor chassis to the wall outlet screw and another one to the computer chassis.
