Well, this is my first attempt at anything like this so be gentle. Anyways, attached is a commandline wrapper for Chankast. It requires a few things to function. Everything is hard coded for now:
Windows XP (may work on Windows 2000 but not tested)
Daemon Tools executable must be c:\program files\d-tools\daemon.exe
Chankast must be installed in c:\chankast
Chankast executable must be c:\chankast\chankast_alpha_25.exe
I wrote this app to work with my front end, MameWAH. Place this file in your Chankast folder and point MameWAH to it as your Chankast executable. Send the full path, extension, enable long file names and put quotes around he file name. Set DOS box to no.
It takes the full path to the desired game (c:\chankast\roms\test.cdi) which is sent by MameWAH and mounts it in Daemon Tools device 0. Then it starts Chankast, makes it full screen and starts the game. While Chankast is running the wrapper waits for the ESC key. When it is pressed Chankast will exit and the image will be unmounted from Daemon tools.
For now, you can download it from the ArcadeOS/MameWAH thread on the message boards here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat=&C=3
Please send feedback to my by the link on my homepage at http://home.comcast.net/~cpviewer . Be patient. I will try and fix all the bugs that are reported.
Enjoy and Good Luck,
John

sounds cool!
btw, does it run any games full speed on a 2ghz machine? last I checked, I got a bunch of games almost working, but none really cabinet ready. I've been waiting for the next version.

I am far from a Chankast authority. I just discovered it about a week ago. I am with you though in awaiting a new version. The games seem awesome and the Emu looks great for an Alpha release. I just hope development continues.

Thanks Howard. Actually, I'm sure it's a hack compared to some of your nice stuff but it gets the job done for me. I'm working on one now for VPinball. What a pain, as I'm sure you know but a good learning experience none the less.

Bah! Wrappers are a hack by definition. ;) You know I have a visual pinball wrapper available right?
-
Yes I do. Thanks. I'm just looking to change a few things and learn a little.
;D

Howard,
I know you've been hard at work with Dragon King development. Any news on the "somthing special" that you were refering to in your earlier message?
Thanks,
Todd

It won't be out until sometime after the next dk release.
For an idea of what it'll do, just think of the one ring (lotr) but for wrappers, aka one wrapper to rule them all.

Can't wait! Thanks for the update. A wrapper that works will be a lot easier than trying to hack dreamcast controllers, hacking a vga-dc box, putting together a manual input switch for Mame and the DC, etc.

Sounds interesting :)
Will it be called 'My Precious' ?
