I set up my new PC last night, and for some reason when I launched several games in Mame32 they came up rotated on my standard Dell monitor. I mucked about with the settings and I could fix a couple of them but not all of them.
Let me clarify, MOST games played fine. I had trouble with Frogger, one of the Namco Classics, Gals' Pinball...maybe one other.
I haven't tried this yet, but I suspect the problem might be that I have the resolution set too high?
Any advice appreciated.

Do you have an onboard intel video chipset? If so, there's a known bug with it's drivers and MAME. Unfortunately it's the drivers at fault, so you have to wait for intel to fix that. :(

Okay, if this IS the problem (and it sounds like it is,) will it go away when I get my ArcadeVGA card installed and hook up my D9200?

INTEL CHIPSET on board graphics does not take as much bitter effects, you can put off all internal rotations as well as monitor shortcut keys from its advanced options.
i am also using the same with a normal pc monitor...

If there's a way to turn it off, I can't find it. I've been all through the advanced display menus.

Yes.
There should be an option in your BIOS to disable the onboard (intel) graphics card in preference of a new graphics card (your arcadeVGA). This will not work until you have the new graphics card installed. (It may even be auto-detecting, depends on the motherboard).

Obviously you need to make sure you have an AGP port. Some of the cheaper motherboards with onboard video do not have an AGP port, and don't allow a standalone card to be added.
But yes, as mentioned the problem will go away with a new non-Intel card.
According to R. Belmont the intel drivers/BIOS (I can't remember which) have a mechanism in them which "intelligently" understand the display is being rotated, and "un-rotate" it on the fly. Very frustrating, as there's nothing the user (nor MAME devs) can do to fix it other than purchase a new card. :(
