Title: Somewhat OT: GI Joe Art
Post by: SteveJ34 on December 01, 2004, 09:34:30 am
My nephew's interests have shifted from Star Wars to GI Joe this year.

Last year I made him a lighted sign for his room from a Star Wars marquee.

This year I'm considering a couple of different "footlocker" or "army surplus ammo cans" ideas to store his GI Joe gear as a xmas present.

I'd like to adorn these with GI Joe logo or other writing in similar font style, like include Property Of...., Rank, Serial No. etc.

Here's a link to the little footlocker that stores one char and gear:

Anyone know of any resources for "GI Joe" art and/or fonts that I could work with for this project? I've done several hours of googling but most of what I have come across in terms of art has been scenes and characters people have drawn. I'm more interested in logos and a "GI Joe" font.

I look forward to any and all replies.

Thanks.

http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/

They have two, one is better than the other.

Font wise just use http://www.dafont.com/

Under teh heading of fancy fonts you will see it says "Stencil/Army"

Look in there.........there must be one that matches teh G.I.Joe font.

Ask jakobud if he used a font or drew it in paint shop.

Check out his website.

Should have thought of that too....thanks.

I have visited frequently and recently just modeled a bartop galaga cab from his cabinet plan specs.
