what are some of the things your getting your wives?

-
Got her a cd and dvd she wanted and...

Get her appliances and/or power tools. :police:
-
get her a mame cab, at least that way when she's pissed you can play some games.
-
I need to come up with something too. I think I'll take a quick look around Amazon and see if there's anything to start with (my wife is a big science fiction geek, so DVD collections are always good). I'll need to get her one big gift though, and I have no idea what.
We just got married and we get a stack of wedding presents every day, so it'll be tough to figure out something that a friend or relative won't be buying us. hmmm...
-
Here's an idea...
The little porcelaine "Christmas Villages" that light up. You plug them together to light up a "minature Christmas village". Place them on cotton batting and looks real nice.
I buy her a new one every year (as a stocking stuffer). Definately a big hit with her, and with the kids.
-
A subscription to Playgirl... :police:
-
im getting my girlfriend a ring =) shes been wanting one ever since i lost the last one i gave her (LOL), its her fault! we were in a big fight one day and she gave me the ring back and said to give it to her when i thought things were better or something ( i still never got the point of that), and well it sat on my computer desk for like 2 weeks and then i never saw it again.... yeah so she was pissed lol. this was like 8 months ago, so shes been wanting a new one
-
I'm getting her a random orbital detailing sander, a leggo ferrari and some other stuff.
-
mops and brooms usually go over well
-
Don't get her lingerie. She may like it, but you'll never ever see her wearing you you got her.
Gift certificates to Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret (they'll buy lotion with it), or any other girl store seems to be fine.
I gave my sis-in-law money last year and had her shop for my wife. If they have the same taste then that could be your best option.
T-shirts that say "What Would Oprah do" are received well too. :)
-
This year, I'm getting my wife the same thing I'm getting my girlfriend... an apartment! ;D

I would very strongly advise against this. ;)
-S
Stingray, that would be like saying you hate her! See, how she'll see it if you DON'T get her new brakes is this "He must WANT me to get in an accident and die....he must hate my guts".
See how romantical and stuff that new brakes are?
;D

Excuse me ma'am, does that dress come in a man's size? ;) ;)

it took me a second to realize I wasn't reading that thread yet, then.....ROFLMAO! WoW w00t!

Get her a robosapian
-
My GF has been going on and on about a graphics tablet so I think that's what I'm getting her... I personally don't think it's a worthwile gift as she will only be using it for iSketch but I'm almost convinced that she wants it bad enough to be her only present.
Maybe I'll hint to her just how expensive they realy are and see what kind of reaction I get?

My wife wants a puppy... but we'll see...
Any other ideas??

Dress up as Darth Vader and use some force.

Now (no offense, GG, just theorizin' here ;) ) what if his wife is a dog? Wouldn't getting a puppy be the same thing?
(again, GG, them's just jokes ;) )

You could combine my earlier idea of a robosapian and your wife's desire for a puppy and get her a Sony Aibo robot dog. They're about 5 years from being as cool as they need to be, though, IMO.

Wow! It looks like your shoulders are about 4' wide in that photo!

hmm... I was somewhat expecting you to look like this:

Don't know where on earth I could have got that idea from though...
But then I was also expecting your wife to look like this:

I'm from Canada, so a wedding like this would be Ok... Maybe my second marriage. :-*
-
Sew together a leather purse and add a gucci label on it.
-
Nevermind...I got the spouses mixed up!
GG, where does she have the leash? ;)
Seriously, you married up! Good job! ;D
-
Daaaaaaaaamn.
How did a goofy guy like you net such a babe?
Well done sir! ;D
-
I heard he's got an endless supply of morphine ;)
Plus, if they don't take their "happy juice", he's got a caveman-style club. ;D
-
Thanks for the kind words. Actually the funny thing is, is she had a crush on me long before we ever met.
Now can we get back to the topic? What are you going to buy you other?
-
well times ticking away and I still have no idea what to get :-\
-

Maybe I spoke too soon on which one was taking the "happy juice" ;)
Usually household things go over well with wives.
Something along the lines of a broom, or a bottle of dish soap, perhaps an iron, a jumbo size tub of laundry detergent....something that lets her know you realize all she does around the house and that you want to help her by giving her this gift. I know my new mop is gonna go over GREAT!
-
Well my wife has already picked out all her presents. I didn't want her to get them all but she just kept seeing stuff she wanted when she went shopping. Then she tricked me into getting a puppy as well. (The puppy is for my sons christmas). Since she doesn't have anything to surprise her I will have to finish our second bathroom. (It's been unfinished for some time now)
-
Im getting my gf the seinfeld 3 season gift set. we're both huge fans. (a steal at 78 on amazon as opposed to 120 at circuit city)
-
I've ordered her a few books, dvd's and a skin for her iPod. I still don't have a clue what to get her as the 'main gift'
-
My wife's birthday is December 27th, so I have to figure this out twice... :O
-

You want to really surprise her? Leave it like it is, and put a big bow across the door. Take her over to it and tell her "since you looked at all your other gifts, I thought you'd need a reminder that this is one of 'em too" ;D Tips for a happy marriage, that's me! I should be DrDrew or something.....wait, he does the LoveLine thing....damn name thief!

How much do you have to pay for shipping? I ask, because they have that same set at Wal-Mart for $85.
Oh, and on a side note, Circuit City can pucker up and kiss my rosy phat hairy stanky @$$.
But you can shop there if you wish. I wouldn't give them a penny if I was able to throw it through their plate glass front window
-
Got mine (gf - not wife) a new sewing machine. It's what she wanted - and she got it right away (didn't even wrap it). She needed it to make other peoples Christmas presents which is why.
But for some reason - even though she got hers 3 weeks early - I have to wait. What kind of crap is that?!?
-
I got her to list a few things that she wouldn't mind getting and she said that something to the effect of not wanting the LOTR DVDs until they came out in a complete set... Well guess what, it does come out in a complete set this month as a mater of fact so I guess that's what she'll be getting. :D
Of course this could be all part of her big plan and she realy does know about it and was sort of tricking me into thinking I'm clever. :-\

You have my sympathy. My wife's is New Years Eve...so every year I have to try to make it special for her while everyone else is celebrating for an entirely different reason.
For Xmas she's getting golf clubs, a lot of clothes, and a couple of CDs.

My birthday is on Dec 23... and its Ok.
One thing, make sure you separate the 2 events. Christmas is for exchanging Christmas gifts and the Birthday is for Birthday events.... One thing that I hated when I was young was getting an all in one Birthday/Christmas gift on Christmas...

OK, I'm shamelessly posting my Wife's first wish list for those of you stuck.

lol@certificate for a facial... i can imagine how well that would go over with my conservative girlfriend, she would think I was being perverted.
DVD player is having problems with the digital audio, so Im buying a new DVD player for mine, then kitchen supplies (getting them from William Sonoma, expensive as hell, but nothing says love like a $300 dollar knife set, and thats the cheaper ones, they go up to $999 easy)
Good luck!
-
Alright here:
Something (it prolly won't matter if you buy it from these places)
Williams Sonoma (as just mentioned, SWEET stuff, super expensive)
Pottery Barn
Victoria's Secret
Restoration Hardware
Crate & Barrell
Pier 1

Those Clinique booths in dept. stores at the mall.......
Does anyone know if you can get gift cards for just that stuff or if you have to get a gift card for that dept. store?
because the problem is if I get her a gift card for the dept. store she'll hold on to it and use it through out the year for gifts for other people, but if it's just for the Clinique stuff she will use it for herself.
