Post by: Tiger-Heli on September 28, 2002, 03:11:34 pm
I just posted a new FAQ page for my unfinished arcade controller page.

Check it out and thanks to everyone here that helped with it (even if you didn't know you did).

I just posted a new FAQ page for my unfinished arcade controller page.

Thanks TH! This is a great resource for newbies like me (and probably for experienced folks also).  I only read through about 1/3 of it so far and found A LOT of good material.

Well written and easy to understand.  I especially like the way it describes the rationale behind the recommendations.  Thanks again.

Nice faq... I like seeing the rationale behind your decisions too.

HEy, I even get a mention in the faq re: getting black handled twisty grips...

FYI: they were two different suggesions.  One suggestion was to "paint" the pvc with truck liner paint... The other suggestion was to try RIT fabric dye or plastic dye..
no biggee...

good luck with the faq/site/project!

Awesome FAQ

The info about the cntrlr.ini files is new to me. That seems like a great way to "costomize" the controls on your mame cab for different styles of games.

I was thinking I would need to reprogram my Ipac every time I launched a game.

Thanks,

Rocky

Great FAQ.

But one problem: TOO MUCH INFO.  ;)  Can you please summarize the whole thing into one sentence so I can understand it.  j/k

Really, thanks for gathering and posting all the info!

Actually I covered the dye also:

"Finally, Rampy from BYOAC suggested that it might be possible to use dye of the liquid truck bedliner stuff (technical term!) to make the white PVC handles black."

Should say dye OR the liquid . . .  will fix later. . .

That was your job (and you did great with it)!!!

I expect 1Up will say the same thing.  As others have said, the idea is to present the options and let you pick the one that works for you.  Thanks to all for the positive feedback.
