Coin door is permanently de-activated. Why have it on then!

It's a market economy so if someone will pay that then more fool them. Be cheaper to buy the wood and the electronics, hire a chippy to make it, an electronics guy to wire it up and a graphic artisit to do the overlay.

I saw one in Costco for $1999.99, it had an Ultracade name on it.

It's expensive, for sure.

Ultracade should sell the cab for less and make their money on the game packs...

...and make their cabs less fugly.  :P

yeah, but not everyone wants to do that. a similar example would be building a house. some people shop around and hire individual contractors to do different things and save some money. others just get the house built by one building company- might not be quite as cheap but then it's a lot less hassle.

certainly a lot of us here would do neither with a cab. we like to build it ourselves. it's half the fun after all

For one thing people, when you pay more for something "complete" you 're also paying for a warranty. You don't really get a warranty if you build it yourself or buy from some hobby-ist.

I disagree. Everything I build for myself comes with an unlimited lifetime guarantee. ;)

that's another good point. do you think i might have difficulty claiming warranty on my monitor by the way?

Fugly for sure.  But upon looking over the costco site navigation to the left I found:

Am I the only one who finds this a bit bizarre? ARCADIAC!

I like this part

"Drivers do not bring freight into house, garage, etc., nor do drivers assist with un-packaging or set-up."

So they open the tailgate, back up fast and then hit the brakes!
