the problem's very simple: i just can't see the white color when using advance mame on my arcade monitor... every shape that should be white is slighlty yellow, the blue ones are green and so on...
i tried and plug a jamma board, and everything is perfect, white is white and blue is blue!!!
so i guess it's not a problem of monitor regulation...
can anyone help me?
thanks

Have you tried the color pots?
-
i think i can't change the color pots one by one... and if i rotate the pots all together nothing positive happens...
-
don't you think that if the jamma board works right, it means that the problem is outside of the monitor? do you know any software way to modify the color balance? or maybe the vga-rgb cable i built was made wrong.. how can test it?

Video amp?
Are you connecting the computer straight to the monitor?
Alot of monitors need +5 volts input, and a pc outputs .7v.

From the way your colors are being described, it sounds to me like there is a break in the wire for the blue input between your video card and monitor.
If white is yellow, it sounds like the monitor is not getting its blue input. Monitors use Red, Green, and Blue. Here is the color mix:
Red - > Red
Green -> Green
Blue -> Blue
Magenta -> Red + Blue
Cyan -> Blue + Green
Yellow -> Red + Green
White -> Red + Blue + Green

stephenH:
i'll try and test the blu wire... i still don't exactly know how, but i'll do...
dabone:
sorry, man, but i can't understand what you suggested... it's my fault, but what d'you mean for "video amp"?
the pc is connected to the monitor via vga-rgb cable, built as described in lots of sites...
what do you mean with the last sentence? sorry...

hi!

here is a picture of the dos screen: http://utenti.lycos.it/msavini/error.jpg ... i guess the characters should be white!!
here are a few pictures of my monitor... maybe you'll find them usefull...

i didn't have the time to test the blue wire... i'll do as soon as possible...
but there is one thing i noticed: before it loads arcmon.sys, in the flashing boot lines i can see some white and blue... could it mean the cable is not broken?!
