Title: How do Tekken TRCs work?
Post by: subzero23 on November 28, 2004, 12:10:38 am
In mame how does time released characters work in Tekken?
Do you have leave the game running for 7x24 hours....which actually doesn't seem like it'd be the case cuz arcades didn't have them running 24 hours...is there a date system the rom will pickup on?

I think it really runs on time activated...  :-\

I'm in the same boat with SFA3.

Is there maybe a way to edit the cfg file for games like that to unlock time released characters?

A lot of newer games keep the time like PC motherboards. Neo Geo does it.

Check the bios of the game, see if you can set the clock forward.

tampering with the clock is considered cheating and therefore won't work.  Hacking the nvram mame generates (or finding someone's nvram that's already time released.) will.  Also sometimes the cheat.dat can help with certain games.

With that being said, this question has indeed been asked before and I answered it.  Asking again won't change the answer.  :)
