All,
I know this a little off topic but I know a lot of you also repair games as well as MAME them.
I have a Centipede cocktail that plays blind most of the time. I need to replace the monitor but while I'm doing that I might as well address a growing concern. It appears that the coin door is charged, that is, when I touch it I get a mild electrical shock (like moderate tingling). The cabinet only has a two prong cord (no ground).
Question: If I replace the current cord with a grounded one, what will I need to ground in the cabinet itself? Will this solve the problem I have?
Has anyone experienced an issue like this?
Thanks for any help.

Todd,
The game should have a 3 prong cord.

Also note that some cabinets do this when missing the third prong, and others don't. And some cabinets have a 3 prong cord, but eliminate the third prong instantly inside the cabinet (actually that is WAY common).
Of course, if you live in a place like mine where it is all 2 prong, then that isn't going to help much, is it.
I had a Do! Run Run that did that, and I was able to get it to quit simply by increasing the connectivity between the various metal grounds in the thing. Luckily that worked, because it was a 2 prong japanese cabinet and I have a 2 prong house anyway.
