Wonder if anyone has a writeup or even some glorified opinions

I love my two, but I'm just using them for key input.
The wiring harness is a godsend.

I give it a huge thumbs up if you're not into wiring (Like I'm not). That said, I had intolerable backspin using a Happs high lip trackball and eventually bought a mouse hack from Oscar. I know there were some other people complaining of this problem when I bought it. Not sure if the problem still exists, or was just a bad bunch, but something to be aware of.

That is one of the main games I play, I guess before I order in, I'll give Andy a email to see if the problem still exists...

Post any results here because I for one have been thinking about using the minipac. It seems the easiest and cheapest alternative. I didn't want to go that route and end up wishing I had bought the more expensive ipac/optipac later but it seems like for a 2 joy controller that the minipac would work great!
Anyone on here actually using one and can give first hand reports? Other than the previously mentioned negative in regards to the high lipped trackball.
Thanks,

I sent Andy a email regarding the problem with backspin and high lip balls....I'm waiting for his response, if that problem has been corrected or if it was just a isolated incident, I'll be ordering one shortly

I too am interested.
Thanks.

I wired a friend's panel using the Minipac and their wiring harness. Everything was super easy. The only wiring harness issue I had was that I had to extend some of the wires to reach some of the farther buttons (the harness extends to a max of 24").
Two Minipac issues: One, it comes with a USB cable, implying that one should connect it to a USB port. But its jumper which is used to switch between PS2 and USB comes preset to PS2. I didn't find any docs which documented this. Luckily I had access to this group and got this resolved quickly :)
Two, I couldn't program a different set of inputs. I switched the jumper to the ALT setting, but I couldn't get a newly defined set to be programmed. I thought I was doing everything correctly, and read all the docs about it. But I just gave up and ended up changing the MAME frontend instead (which was easy, so it wasn't a big deal).
Everything worked great when done. We used a Happ trackball and that works very well.

I love mine. I am using the trackball inputs and will be wiring up my new spinner soon. I passed on the wiring harness in order to cut costs, but if you can afford it you will will have it connected in no time.
I'm using MameWah and use it to load different key configurations for different emulators. I'm not really using this now, but when I set it up and tried it out it worked like a charm.
