Post by: DarkSoul1 on November 26, 2004, 08:22:19 am
This cab is up for auction.

Don't know about the cost but that is an "unusual" cabinet - It might be a conversion.

Here (http://www.evl.uic.edu/aej/526.old/pics/SpaceInvaders_cabinet.jpg) is what an original cab looks like (or at least the one I have looks like that :) )

As far as worth I'm not really sure.

Yeah that cab looks suspicious. It has no side-art, and I recall Space Invaders using buttons to move, not a joystick. This could be a weird European version...

Over here (Canada), a real Nice Space Invaders sells for maybe $200 - $300 us. ("Real nice" means WITH side-art, working boardset, working monitor, and no wood-rot).

I've seen some really nice ones go for as little as $400. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $200 for that one. I can't tell if the cab is the Taito or the Midway version, though.

Thats a Taito one. You can tell by the coin door and the joystick.
