Title: advmame giving me trouble with metal slug

I'm running advmame .62 with .62 roms and mamewah in windows98--whenerver i run metal slug 2 or 3 (but #1 works) i get a unable to start video emulation error.  I checked the advmame forums and they say its cause advmame can't create the resolution but MS #1 is the same as the others so that can't be the issue--i even went into advmame and told it to use the working resolution for all similar games (304x224) but to no avail.

I realize this is a shot in the dark--but does anyone have any suggestions?

Does it work in normal MAME?  It might be due to sound emulation...try to make sure it works in normal MAME...you may not have all the files needed.
