Title: Looking into Bubble Hockey
Post by: DaemonCollector on November 25, 2004, 12:49:57 pm
I'm doin a favor for my cousin, he is looking into a bubble hockey machine and I am testing the waters for what one may cost. Used preferably, I am not looking to buy anytime soon though.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Happy Thanksgiving.

Cha-ching! I think Chexx hockey's are extremely over-valued.
About a grand in decent working condition, $2600 new. Good luck!

Yeah they are uber expensive - now if he is just looking for a hockey table though.  Costco has a very nice solid - non-bubble top hockey table in for Christmas under $300.

I didn't realize how much these things cost... grabbed one at a garage sale here in TX for $25.

seanp, not the same thing, the quality of the coin op ones is WAY HIGHER than the home ones, as a bubble hockey game will usually see service basically eternally.

If you look hard enough, you will find them below 500.  It took my 3 years, but by golly I got one!!!

Sam's Club sells one for pretty cheap, but it's made of flimsy wood that probably wouldn't last more than a few heated sessions.

Ive looked at alot of the home games over the last few months, and your right, the quality is way higher in the bubble games... the home ones are really made for kids.
ive noticed they are basically made of mdf and flimsy plastic rods.

While you can land a Chexx hockey for under 1000$ cdn, look at the prices of replacement parts, as they can add up real quick.

Im not a big fan of most of the rod hockey tables, witht he exception of these two.

Seems like a quality table.  True that theres no bubble, but they are very expensive to replace anyways.

Personally the artizan games one looks amazing.  Dam just look at the goalie!  I would image these are very expensive as they seem to be a piece of furniture as well as a game (similar to a very nice pooltable).

No kidding eh?  Im afraid to even email them how much.    I thought about asking for just the men, but I bet they would charge upwards of 80-100 a player....

I figured as much.  Good quality pool tables cost a bunch too (mostly in the slate I would imagine), but the craftmanship on the legs and quality of wood also plays a big roll.  They def. are nice though.

4 player is a great idea, but its hard to find 4 people who would be interested in playing at once.
