a couple more screens ;D

Yeah, Playdoh! Thanks for the reviews NIVO! I believe a separate forum for "new retro" game reviews would be excellent for this hobby! Keep it up :)

thanks I hope this helps out everyone and the independent gaming community who make these fine games. I hope to get more companies involved and have more reviews to come. I like the idea of these games working with our custom controls and adding another element to our projects. We cant have TOO many games in our machines now can we? ;D

Platypus is a favorite in the PC Games category on my cab.
Also you might mention that it supports 2 player coop mode!
-
ah yes that is a very good point papa. Having tested it by myself, I WAS aware of the coop, but alas did not test that part of it out, im sure it would add depth. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, this is a neat game, but I don't consider it worthy of 5 stars for a couple of reasons. First, when exiting the game, it jerks around with my desktop resolution and rearranges all of my icons.
Second, while it supports play with the mouse, keys or a joystick, there is no option to reconfigure the keys. I'm reconfiguring my cab from the MAME standards to play this game. It is also impossible to navigate the menus for someone that doesn't have a mouse or trackball on their cab.
I'd give this one 3 out of 5 for someone who wants to run it on a cab. Not nearly configuration friendly or polished enough to warrant 5 stars in my opinion.

haha graphics are pretty funny

the game is pretty good, old school gradius meets clay fighter.... I'd agree with the lower ratings tho. no key configurability is a big thumbs down for mame cab usage. all the intro screens and need for mice are a no-no as well. Also, if you use nvidia screen rotation (my monitor is updide-down), the game crashes on load. In hindsight, I'm lucky mame/zinc have no problems with it.
rating: 4/5 for burning time at school,
2/5 for a mame cab.

Downloaded Platypus & Platypus II today and think they are great games but like what TOK said they are not cab friendly, I would really like to play two player games, are there any programs out there they can remap mouse or joystick buttons to keyboards keys, e.g. opposite of what joytokey does?
Thanks.
