Title: SlikStik *Joystick Poll*
Post by: SlikStik Christian on November 24, 2004, 08:30:17 pm
We have already committed to running a special batch of our new 2-piece ball top joysticks for 49-way joystick bases (special thanks to NoOne=NBA= for providing us with an original to work off of).

The main reason for this poll is to get a feel for which of the 3 joysticks listed here the gaming community would like to see our sticks fit.

Please enter your choice above.

Since I could only vote for one, I went with the 49-way.

I would probably buy them for my T-stiks at some point, but would really like to see them released to fit NOS Wicos.

If you do release them for the T-stiks, I think they should be a little taller than the tall balltops that Andy has.
I think I'm the only one in the world that actually LIKES the T-stiks mounted under a 3/4" wood panel without routing, and that's only because I played so much Crazy Climber (with its knuckle dragging short sticks) when I was younger.

So what are your "new 2-piece ball top joysticks for 49-way joystick bases" anyway?  I don't know what you're talking about, mang.

I'd like to see the Ms Pac/Galaga Reunion Stick set up as the 4 way joystick on a SlikStik.  The Ms. Pacman style joys (ala Wico 4 way leaf) are the original and the best 4 way joy in my humble opinion.

I bought some handles for the 360 optical that I use in Wico NOS bases. Works fine, only the spring doesn't work (of course) and the grommet is perhaps a bit to weak for the heavier stick.

See this: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,27968.0.html

I went for 49-way, as it is the only type from the list I own, and also the others are available with balltops already (not the anodized one's I know!).

I'll just echo NoOne=NBA=, I'd really like to see these for Wico bases.  They oughtta be in the poll.

On the other hand, hy is the 49 way in the poll when you say you've already committed to do it?  ???

And while we're at it, according to Paigeoliver, you can already fit a Happ Super handle to a Ms. Pac reunion base:

So you don't have to worry about that one, either.

I remember seeing this:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,6294.msg44224.html#msg44224
which basically says you can put a Wico handle on a P360.  I posted in the other thread about the possibllity of swapping the other way, which is to say put a 360 handle on a Wico base.  Now I see Patrickl's comments, so that looks likely, too.

So go for the T-sticks!

Someone send me a Wico joystick (I already have the Ms. Pac reunion in the shop somewhere) and I will spec out all 3 and see what will fit with what and what won

I don't just want it to "fit" my Ms. Pacman reunion joystick.  It needs to fit it proper.  A stick made to fit into that joystick base should have a short shaft just like the original.
