Title: Competition JS with heavy spring...
Post by: subzero23 on November 24, 2004, 04:40:54 pm
Apparently it's great for fighters (is this true?) but what about all other 8 way games.....will it make it better to play with or harder?
Any experiences?

What I'm saying is, that in non-fighting games such as Metal Slug or Simpsons or something ya know like a platformer, or shooting game like 194x etc....is the heavy spring TOO stiff?

Non fighter games like metal slug and any other game are very playable with the heavier spring option. It however a matter of personal prefference on what feels best. Some people prefer using long throw joys vs short throw's and tension is just another varience, but other games are very playable if a tight stick is your preferrence.

Hope it helps,

ya
I just know that tight/tense joysticks are good in fighting games but in platformers and other things I wonder if it improves performance or not

of course I don't want people to play it and think it's too hard to even move

Well the springs in the Wico joysticks that were used in TMNT / Simson cabs are way harder than any of the Happ springs I've used.
