Title: Jr. Pac-Man and speed button

when i play Jr. Pac-Man and hold down the 1st fire button, Jr Pac-man speeds up (the character himself) and the ghosts continue at normal speed.

was this super-speed feature in the original game? just curious- couldn't find info on the 'net
