Title: Ultimarc Joysticks
Post by: bishamon on September 25, 2002, 03:50:33 pm
I am thinking of picking up some ultimarc j-sticks for my new panel - Has anyone used these in a project? Am I better off getting some Happ Supers?

depends on what you like... the J-sticks are very good sticks....

I have a ball top J-stick on 1 of my joystick now...

a couple of things that I noticed....
there are 4 screws that you need to screw tight to lock the template... you'll need to screw them tight... when I play SF, after about 20 min of playing.... if the screws are loose... the template will rotate by itself... (maybe cos I play too hard... heee hee...)

another thing about it that I didn't like too much is that the 4 main direction has a shorter distance than the diagonals....
the template is like a square... so... go up travels faster.... going diagonal is longer....
its not a big deal.... but needs to get used to....

cos I was playing 8 way games and when I go up... I sometimes ended in a diagonal....

out of all the joysticks.... I still like competition with heavy spring the best..... (just me personal preference...)

but Super, Competition, and the J_stick are ALL VERY GOOD sticks....

hope it helps...

;)    ;D   ;)   ;D

ps: but the construction, design wise... I think J-stick is the best... its smaller and nice....

Has anyone tried a T-stick?  Does a T-stick have the same basic issues that the J-stick has?
