Greetings all,
My cabinet has a 27" Sanyo Flat Screen DS27930 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2178149
(http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2178149) in it and I've been looking at Happ's bezels which seem to be getting a lot of use. They don't look bad and it's a cheaper alternative than using black countertop formica which was my first thought... :)
Happ has 2 listed:
27" Monitor Bezel, Black Plastic
27" Flat Screen Monitor Bezel, Black Plastic
What's the real difference here? I imagine I should get the flat screen one but before I pull the trigger I'd just like some advice.
Thanks in advance,
Guybrush

you need the flat one. ;) The other is expecting a rounded tube.

Thanks!! That helps out a lot.
I keep reading that Happ's like to charge a lot for shipping so I didn't want to order the wrong one the first time.
Currently, (until I get the Happ bezel ordered), I went to Wal-Mart and picked up a teacher's presentation board, cut it to fit, sprayed it with some black paint and have that as the bezel. It's actually not too bad and if it continues that way once I get the outer frame cut and lexan on top, I'll probably just leave it that way.
Thanks again & Have a Happy Thanksgiving,

And if TV is still in case, it might not be a "perfect fit".
I have a Toshiba 27" standard tube that I did not decase, the Happ's standard bezel is very close fit, but not perfectly snug against all areas of tube.

That's one thing that worries me a little considering the Happ bezel is $16 not including possibly a $40 shipping cost I found someone had received when ordering one.
It was nice and cheap to go to Wal-Mart and spend $4 on presentation board, $4 at Home Depot for black spraypaint, and then just cut it to fit the TV.
Right now I'm just going to use the cardboard as the bezel with an oak frame and lexan over all of it. Today the marquee backing holders were installed and now I'm just trying to decide on how I want to make it stay in place. Either use the simple 4 screws through lexan technique, or cut a thin long piece of oak for the top and bottom. Decisions, decisions...
Thanks again to everybody. This board is a great resource of information.

Perfect fit? It doesn't fit if you leave the tv in the case, it pretty much defeats the whole purpose of the bezel.

Good point.
The only thing left for this beast (for phase one) now is to cut the wood bezel for the cardboard bezel. Bezel-on-bezel if that makes any sense.
On a side note, I finally received the ATI component dongle/adapter in the mail yesterday. I'm pretty excited to say the least. After reading all the stellar comments and of course my own experience with component signal (through a dvd player), transferring the existing s-video signal to this better one and changing the resolution should be just plain awesome. And if it isn't, I can blame everyone on here! :P
If I can loop that video signal back into the video card (Radeon 8500DV), I'll take some screencaps of the s-video signal versus composite since it seems to have been a raging debate on here whether it's worth the extra cash. I'll have to look at the connections and see what I can do.

Also, another good reason to decase your tv is so you can get at the size adjustments inside and adjust that sucker so that your tv out actually fills the screen correctly!
