Don't really understand the question -
The game is looking for a gameport joystick, but can use keyboard input keys if you don't have one, correct?
Best bet is probably to find an old gamport joystick on E-bay or maybe in stores.
Second option would be to just use arcade joysticks and a keyboard encoder, but forget analog, because nothing coming out of the keyboard is analog.
Third option would be to hack the Sidewinder joystick to work on the gameport. That is possible, but I think that would be your last resort.

This should do what you want, if I understand correctly:

Ah I remember now, the 49-ways. I've just got one actually (& SJC board), very pleased with it ;D JoyToKey should be just what you need....

I would love to figure out a way to hook up my old Apple II suncom analog joystick using some sort of contraption. I figure those things use pots so maybe I could do a dual strike hack or something.
